[Amazing Spider-Man #195]
And, ok, I love this origin for Felicia because this story actually makes you question whose side you’re on. Because Peter is staunchly for being in the legal right— Felicia breaking her father out of prison is breaking the law and thus she must be put to a stop.
But then you get this response from Felicia about it and, to me, it’s Wolfman clearly posing the question of whether being legally right out does being morally right. And it clarifies that they aren’t often the same thing.
Her first big theft wasn’t diamonds or gold, it was breaking her father out of prison so he could die at home in peace. Felicia was NOT introduced as a moustache-twirling villain, but instead a morally grey character. And someone who, in this story, seems to be more in the right than in the wrong.
Like, what a good intro.

Do you remember when Kevin Smith decided that this wasn’t a good enough reason for Felicia to become a thief and decided instead to go with the disgusting mess that is The Evil That Men Do?
Yeah. Good times.
I hope you don’t need me for a while.
But I hope you miss me.
