Same. Like, seeing Elektra would be neat (and is a possibility since she’s going to be in T-Bolts soon), and of course there’s never too much Natasha in the 616, but.

The fuckery Brubaker pulled with Milla was just… pretty fucking awful. And it would be nice if we could see her recover from that.

I’d like for one of Matt’s old flames (of the ones that weren’t superheroes) to actually get to be ok.

Oh there are TONS! I bite my nails still (which is gross and I should stop but!!!). Jayme makes fun of my because of the way I ask for something “Do you want to get me____” instead of just saying “Would you get me ____”. I have a tendency when I get nervous for my shoulders to shoot up and people tell me I look like a turtle.

Once again this is just what I recall. I really don’t think I have a habit that is not make fun of-worthy.

I guess we’re going with the comics here??? But let’s see… 

1) Nat getting out of her constraints back in Liu’s BW, beating the shit out of her captor before Wolvie and Bucky even showed up.

2) In the Rucka/Grayson issues she has a moment where she finds out that the bad guys are using this formula that basically works people into a frenzy and has them kill other people and then the serum will kill who ever it’s used on. And Nat is really horrified by this and sheds a tear or too, but then immediately puts the gun back to the guys head and gets back to business. That moment has ALWAYS stood out to me.

3) Back to Liu’s run, I loved that moment when she was on a date with Bucky, but then found out one of the guys in the restaurant was abusive, so she, like, put her shoe in his mouth and tore through him and then went right back to her date.

I mean, I can’t attest to the current Ultimate Spider-Man as it compares to other Spider-books, because I don’t read them. But Ultimate Spider-Man is easily one of the better books I read every month, so. There’s that.

And just. Yeah. Peter has so many other issues, he has TWO series where he’s the lead but people still want to complain about the ONE BOOK that he’s not in.

Matt is mostly seen as a hero, but has had many moments where he’s found himself in a darker place (mind that time he proclaimed himself Kingpin?). Felicia has been known more as a thief, but is really more of a pragmatist I think. She’s toed the line of becoming almost heroic at times too, though. It’s kind of a mirror image type deal that I imagine.

True, but she’s still thieving, so she’s not exactly at the side of the angels.

Well, we don’t really know what she’s doing at the moment! For the sake of the Daredevil story, she was paid to steal from Matt but didn’t follow through with it. So she’s not really thieving? She was actually just making sure that Matt wasn’t going to get his ass fried for being so careless with that damn data.

And most of the comics I’ve read with Felicia lately have been with her more as just a superhero and not a thief? Like that doesn’t ignore that she thieved in her past, but.

What is it with Matt and bad girls though? Elektra,Bloody Mary, etc. They always end up burning him too(Literally in Mary’s case).

I mean, I don’t know! Like, I think that Matt has a nice blend of good girls/bad girls. He just happens to have been with a lot of women? (Understatement.)

Like, for all the Elektras and Typhoid Marys we’ve also gotten Karen Page and Milla Donovan and Heather Glenn who were normal, not to mention Natasha Romanova who was a superhero by the time they were together. And even Kirsten from the new series is a nice, normal woman who doesn’t seem to be evil in the slightest (unless there is some ~plot twist~ yet to be revealed). These are just girls that I’m remembering at the moment, and my knowledge from Miller’s run forward (with quite a few bare spots in my reading, mind you.)

And I don’t think that Felicia is a bad girl! Well, I mean if we’re talking on the level of Elektra and Typhoid Mary villainess level. From the get go, in her origin, her first ~crime was to bust her dad out of jail because he was dying and she wanted him to be with her mother before he passed. And from there Felicia has stolen and done petty crimes, but I guess I’ve always overall thought of Felicia on the side of morally good? (Of course this is ignoring the Kevin Smith retcon which I do because it’s full of shit and it makes me so mad I could spit). But while she might not be a pinnacle of good, I think that Felicia is a good person with a good heart (she had to do some growing up, esp. wrt to Peter, but she definitely did grow up).

Like, if they had gone the route of making Felicia turn on Matt like they were hinting I would have been livid. Because she wouldn’t do that.

Yeahhhh. I mean, I still have faith that Laura/her relationship with the AA kids will be explored. I’m 99.99% sure that Laura will side with AA in AvX (especially if Gage decides to go with Liu’s characterization), so I’d imagine we’ll see more bonds with Laura in AA proper. Like, if I’m just guessing, I especially think that Laura and Jeanne will bond with their similar… emotional responses, I guess? And I would love to see Laura be friends with everyone, tbh. Gage might also work on the bond between Laura and Mettle as well since that’s been hinted at as well (I stand by saying it likely won’t even be a romantic one).

I mean, I could be wrong and she could side with her old NXM buddies and that would be fine by me— I love those kids, but idk I just think that going with the theme that Liu put in place of Laura directly making her own choices/friends that Laura will side with the Avengers (where she doesn’t have the sort of baggage she does with the X-Men, and in the case of her going to AA that was firmly her own decision).

Although, I do think that if Laura had her own book we could see these explored even more personally (like the Laura & Jubilee bond, the Gambit & Laura one, etc.) So… yeah.

I just. Miss that book so much. Everything about it and all the potential it had… *sigh*

Sometimes he missed his friends, the crew of wayward teens always viewed as such a nuisance to the older superheroes of the time, but mostly, desperately, he just missed her.
